모바일 인터넷 서비스를 위한 시스템 구성 및 성능 분석에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

모바일 데이터 사용자의 수는 향후 5년 안에 전체 모바일 가입자의 70%에 육박하여 전 세계적으로 6억명을 초과할 것으로 예상되고 있으며 2005년에는 데스크탑 인터넷 이용자의 수를 초과하는 10억명에 이를 것으로 전망된다[1]. 그러나 현재의 휴대폰 기반 인터넷 서비스는 지난 80년대 문자 기반 PC통신 서비스를 이용하는 수준 정도이다. 또한 인터넷으로 연결되었다고 하더라도, 현재의 무선 인터넷 서비스는 때와 장소를 구분하지 않고 사용하기에는 서비스 제공 능력이나 모바일 업무에 맞는 애플리케이션 개발이 상당히 부족한 상황이다. 이러한 측면에서 모바일 오피스(Mobile Office)는 누구나(AnyPerson), 언제나(AnyTime), 어디서나(AnyWhere) 회사 정보에 접근하고 공유하며 업무에 적용 할 수 있도록 시급히 구현되어야 할 대상이다. 본 논문에서는 외근 위주의 영업사원과 사내 직원간에 보다 효과적인 커뮤니케이션이 필요한 보험업을 중심으로 특화한 모바일 오피스 솔루션의 기반을 제시하고, 이것을 모바일 환경과 일반 PC 환경 그리고 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) 환경에 맞추어 각각 구현하였다. 또한 유저의 증가에 따른 시스템의 변화를 조사하여 적합한 시스템을 구 성할 수 있도록하는 서버의 성능 분석 기준을 제안하였다.

The number of mobile phones in the world is increasing every day at the astonishing speed, with analysts forecasting that there will be more than a billion mobile phones in use within the next five years(Gartner Group) and that over half of Internet access will be through non-PCs(Meta Group). The mobile phone has become a part of daily life for many people, and together with a watch, is the only electronic device that many people carry around everywhere with them, all day long. But the level of internet services based on mobile phone is less than the level of online services based on text. Even though the number of mobile phones in the world are increasing, it is not abilities enough to provide services and develope applications to adapt for mobile job. Therefore Mobile Office is a solution which has to been implemented to connect and share with office information for business for Anyperson, Anytime and Anywhere.
This paper has proposed the basis of mobile office solution specialized for insurance business to need the more effective communication between walking salesman and office man. it has been implemented with PC environments, Personal Digital Assistants(PDA) environments and Mobile phone. Also This paper simulated the traffic generated by a large number of simultaneous web users, enabling an administrator to test the ability of their server to handle differing loads and capacities. Therefore it lets developers see how their application performs and lets administrators see how and if upgrades or server settings have helped performance.
