디지털기술 전환 시대의 인문학 = Humanities in the age of computational turn - discussion based on the Digital Humanities Manifesto

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 지난 2009년에 발표된 디지털인문학 선언문 (Digital Humanities Manifesto 2.0)을 통해 인문학 연구를 위한 새로운 방법론을 제공하는 디지털인문학(Digital Humanities)에 대해 보다 본질적으로 접근하여 논의하고자 한다. 본 선언문은 20세기 초 유럽의 아방가르드 예술 운동을 따르던 미래파의 영향을 받아, ‘선언문’ 즉 Manifesto라는 장르의 성명서를 통해 디지털혁명이라는 시대적 배경속에서 기존의 전통적 인문학적 사고 및 연구에 대한 직접적인 도전과 변화를 요구하며 직설적이고 도전적인 표현들을 사용하면서 유토피아적 미래를 제시하고자 하는 것으로 해석된다. 이 논문에서는 영문으로 씌여진 ‘디지털인문학 선언문’의 번역본을 부록에 제공하고 선언문의 내용을 바탕으로, 선언문 및 디지털인문학을 둘러싼 담화들을 참고하여 디지털인문학이 추구하는 핵심 가치 및 키워드를 중심으로 디지털인 문학의 현재 위치 및 향후 발전에 대한 논의를 하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The paper aims to discuss fundamental principles of the Digital Humanities, looking through the Digital Humanities Manifesto 2.0 written and declared in 2009. The manifesto follows the European avant-garde in the early twentieth century, which has been generally characterized with fiery and provocative expressions in its language use to provide utopian vision of society. It demands that scholars and researchers of the humanities be in action to take the challenge of emerging multidisciplinary research environment, engaging in facilitating the responsible production, curation and dissemination of knowledge in the age of computational turn. In discussing the Digital Humanities, the paper considers discourse and practices in the field of interdisciplinary studies and researches which may include humanities scholars, computer professionals, librarians and archivists, based on some core values and keywords taken from the manifesto.
