``Education for Democracy`` is a core part of democratic citizenship education. So far, among various types of democracies, liberal democracy and representative democracy have gained a dominant position in the education for democracy of the secondary school`s social studies education. However, it has to be reminded that liberal democracy and representative democracy have recently revealed their limitations related to social inequality and representative problem. Consequently, other types of democracies criticizing and supplementing liberal democracy and representative democracy have been strongly emphasized and demanded. In this situation, there has been a constant request to reform the education for democracy in order to overcome the limits of today`s education for democracy which are solely focused on liberal democracy and representative democracy. This paper argues that in order to fulfill this request of reform, secondary school`s education for democracy has to be reorganized to include various types of democracies instead of narrowly focusing on liberal democracy and representative democracy.
