This paper investigated the structure of Ji-ryoung-rok Vol. 6 written by Lee Hyoungsang with regard to his notion of the akpu, and it shedded light on the meanings of the book, that is the compilation and the organization of the Korean akpu poems. The notion of the akpu embedded in Ji-ryoung-rok Vol. 6 contains two main characteristics: relativity and musicality. Lee Hyoungsang regarded the akpu as essentially relative, which could not help but differ along the region`s natural and cultural climate. He also argued that the music harmonizing with the regional climate was the basis of the akpu. Based on this notion of the akpu, Lee could discuss the akpu of Korea on equal terms with that of China, unprecedentedly compiling and organizing the Korean songs and poems. He collected the old court songs as well as contemporary poems and songs. His practice must have affect his contemporaries. It is assumed as having become the forerunner of Akhakpyoungo and Akhaksupryoung, which were written by Lee himself some years later, and the plentiful song compilations, which were produced by the literati of the 18th century.
