This Thesis aimed to study the social integrative function of ideology. Here, I assumed that one conflits continuously with one another in social life. Then, there was never agreement within any society, needless to say, among the various political societies of the world. People has held different views ; nations projected different values and beliefs. It was precisely here that we saw the role of political ideologies : they unified people into one point of view or another.
The definition of political ideology in relation to social integration was quite obvious when we look at some of the major themes that political ideologies addressed : (1) the means of understanding an society, (2) the framework for judgment of value, (3) the system for socialization, (4) the measure for arrangement of conflict.
A given political ideology rationalized the status quo, whereas other, competing ideology challenges it. This study divided political ideologies into two broad categories in relation to social integration.
First, status quo ideologies that defend and rationalize the existing economic, social, and political order operate centripetally to social integration.
Second, revolutionary ideologies that advocate far-reaching changes in the existing economic, social, and political order operate centrifugally to social integration.
One of the most important functions of a political ideology is to give political authority to a political regime and its institutions. lt provided the basic categories by which the people know the political regime, abide by the rules, and participate in it. Therefore, it shaped the operative ideas that made the people regulate, manipulate, persuade, organize, and mobilize into Integration.
