데이터로 보는 학술지 『국어교육 』 70년의 연구 동향 분석 = A Study on Research Trends in the Journal Korean Language Education over 70 Years: A Data-Driven Approach

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국어교육학회 창립 70주년을 맞아 학술지 『국어교육 』에 게재된 논문을 대상으로, (한)국어교육학의 역사적 전개 과정과 연구 동향을 분석하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 1호～185호에 게재된 총 2,082편의 논문을 분석 대상으로 삼아, 내용론과 교과론의 범주에 따라 시기별 변화 양상을 고찰하여 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 1997년을 기점으로 연구 주제의 다양성이 확대되었으며, 이는 학술지 평가 제도의 도입 등 외부적인 요인과 국문학과 국어학 중심의 전통에서 벗어나 (한)국어 교육학이라는 학문의 자립화 노력의 맞물린 결과로 분석된다. 둘째, 영역별로는 문학과 어학 중심의 전통적인 흐름에서 점차 의사소통, 매체, 한국어교육 등으로 연구의 중심이 이동하며 영역별 분화와 통합이 역동적으로 일어났음을 확인하였다. 셋째, 교수학습 방법론, 교육과정 등 교과론적 층위의 연구가 전 기간에 걸쳐 꾸준히 상승하였으며, 특히 초창기 현장 사례 공유 중심에서 점차 이론적 체계성을 갖춘 연구로 질적인 전환을 이루었다. 넷째, 기타 영역에 해당하는 연구를 통해 그간 주목받지 못했던 영역들을 기반으로 (한)국어교육학 외연의 확장 가능성을 모색하였다. 이러한 결과는 (한)국어교육학이 지난 70년간 독자적인 학문적 위상을 정립해 왔음을 보여주며, 본 연구는 향후 (한)국어교육학이 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzes the historical development and research trends of Korean language education by examining 2,082 articles published in Korean Language Education from Issue 1 to Issue 185, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of The Society of Korean Language Education. The analysis focuses on chronological changes based on the categories of content theory and pedagogical theory. The findings show that, since 1997, research topics have diversified significantly, influenced by both external factors such as the journal evaluation system and internal efforts to establish academic independence. Research has also shifted from traditional literature and linguistics toward communication, media, and Korean language education, reflecting processes of differentiation and integration. In addition, pedagogical research has steadily increased, showing a qualitative shift from practice-oriented reports to more systematic theoretical studies. Furthermore, the analysis of underexplored areas suggests possibilities for expanding the scope of the discipline. These results demonstrate that Korean language education has developed a distinct academic identity over the past 70 years and provide important implications for its future development.
