고정관념 및 편견과 인간 관계 = Stereotyopes, prejudice and the interpersonal relationship

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리 사회의 주요 고정관념과 편견이 대인 정보처리 및 인간 관계에 미치는 영향과 그 과정에 대해 관련 연구들을 중심으로 개관하였다. 편견의 문제는 보통 사람들이 어떠한 집단의 사람들에 대해 그들이 그 집단에 속한다는 이유로 일상 생활의 인간 관계에서 부당하게 따돌리고, 왜곡되게 지각하고 평가하는 심리적 폭력의 문제라고 보았다. 특히 우리 사회의 성 편견과 지역 편견이 왜곡된 대인 정보 처리와 인간 관계 의사를 일으키는 과정과 그 실태에 대한 여러 연구들을 개관하였으며 또한 그러한 다수의 편견의 과정이 소수 집단의 정체성 약화 및 왜곡으로 귀결될 수 있다는 점을 지적하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Research on the effects of stereotypes and prejudice on the interpersonal relations and the socio-cognitive processing was reviewed. The problem of prejudice in our society was viewed as a problem of a psychological violence in that it was a problem that ordinary people elicited when they excluded other people in important aspects of interpersonal relationships such as marriage, friendship, neighbors, renting, promotions, etc., and when they distorted the information processing, just because of gender or regional origin of the target person. Specifically, the studies which examined the effects of gender prejudice and the regional prejudice in our society on information processing and interpersonal relationship were reviewed. It was also indicated that the prejudice of the majority group toward the minority group often resulted in the weakening or negation of identity of the minority group.
