청소년기 대인관계 외상경험이 폭식행동에 미치는 영향 : 객체화 신체의식과 사회적 체형불안의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대인관계 외상경험이 폭식행동으로 이어지는 경로에서 객체화 신체의식과 사회적 체형불안의 순차적 매개효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 확인하기 위해 대학 및 대학원에 재학 중인 성인 여성 357명을 대상으로 또래 괴롭힘 척도, 한국판 객체화 신체의식 척도(K-OBCS), 여대생의 사회적 체형불안 척도, 신경성 폭식증 검사 개정판(BULIT-R)을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS PROCESS Macro를 활용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대인관계 외상경험과 객체화 신체의식, 사회적 체형불안, 폭식행동 사이에 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 대인관계 외상경험과 폭식행동의 관계에서 객체화 신체의식, 사회적 체형불안이 각각 유의한 매개효과를 보였다. 마지막으로, 대인관계 외상경험과 폭식행동의 관계에서 객체화 신체의식과 사회적 체형불안은 순차적 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대인관계 외상을 경험한 사람들이 객체화 신체의식과 사회적 체형불안을 더 많이 느끼며, 폭식행동에 도달할 수 있음을 의미한다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 가지는 임상적 함의와 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.

This study aimed to investigate the sequential mediating effect of objectified body consciousness and social physique anxiety on the path from interpersonal traumatic experience to binge eating behavior. A total 357 female undergraduate and graduate students completed the self-report questionnaire, which is the Peer Victimization Index, the Korean Version of Objectified Body Consciousness Scales(K-OBCS), Social Physique Anxiety Scale for Female Undergraduate, and the Bulimia Test Revised(BULIT-R). Collected data were analyzed using SPSS PROCESS Macro.
The findings of the study were as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between interpersonal traumatic experience and objectified body consciousness, social physique anxiety, and binge eating behavior. Second, objectified body consciousness and social physique anxiety had a significant mediating effects on the relationship between the interpersonal traumatic experience and binge eating behavior, respectively. Finally, objectified body consciousness and social physique anxiety had a sequential mediating effect on the relationship between interpersonal traumatic experience and binge eating behavior. These results suggest that people who have experienced interpersonal trauma feel higher objectified body consciousness and social physique anxiety, which can lead to binge eating behavior. The clinical implications and limitations of this study were discussed based on these results.
