디지털 시민성의 대두와 현대시 교육 : 닐 포스트먼의 교육철학을 중심으로 = Emphasis on Digital Citizenship and Modern Poetry Education : Focusing on Neil Postman’s Philosophy of Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 디지털 대전환 시대에 현대시 교육이 디지털 시민성 함양에 기여할수 있는 교육적 가능성을 닐 포스트먼의 교육철학을 중심으로 탐구하였다. 디지털 환경의 확증 편향, 가짜 뉴스 확산 등 공론장의 위기 속에서 디지털 시민성은OECD와 UNESCO가 강조하는 핵심 역량으로 부상하였다. 포스트먼의 미디어 생태학적 관점은 매체가 인식을 구조화함을 밝히고, 그의 열역학적 교육관은 급속한 기술 변화 속에서 인간적 가치를 보존하는 교육의 균형자 역할을 정당화한다.
이러한 점에 기반하여, 본 연구는 현대시 교육의 실천 방안으로 매체 비판적 문식성, 느린 읽기와 깊은 해석, 언어적 정교성 함양, 대화적 해석 공동체 구성, 시민적 상상력 확장의 다섯 가지 원리를 제시하였다. 이는 현대시 교육이 비판적사고력과 정서적 공감 능력, 합리적 의사소통 역량을 통합적으로 함양함으로써디지털 시민성 교육의 핵심 영역으로 자리매김할 수 있음을 보여준다.

This study explores the educational potential of modern poetry education in cultivating digital citizenship during the era of digital transformation, centered on Neil Postman's educational philosophy. Amid the crisis of the public sphere characterized by confirmation bias and the spread of fake news in digital environments, digital citizenship has emerged as a core competency emphasized by OECD and UNESCO. Postman's media ecological perspective reveals how media structures human cognition, while his thermostatic view of education justifies education's role as a balancing force in preserving human values amid rapid technological change. This study proposes five practical principles for modern poetry education: media-critical literacy, slow reading and deep interpretation, linguistic refinement, dialogical interpretive communities, and expansion of civic imagination. These principles demonstrate that modern poetry education can establish itself as a central domain of digital citizenship education by integratively cultivating critical thinking, emotional empathy, and rational communication competencies.
