역공간으로서 수변 공간과 도시 재생 : 로테르담 Stadshavens 재생 사업을 사례로 = Waterfront as a Liminal Space, and Its Regeneration : The Case of the Stadshavens Project in Roterdam

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글에서는 도시와 항구의 분리에 대응하는 하나의 사례로서 로테르담의 Stadshavens (도시항구) 프로젝트를 검토한다. 항구의 수변은조선업과 해운업의 기술적, 경제적 변동의 영향을 크게 받는다. 이런변화에 대한 도시정부의 일반적인 대응은 도시재생인데, 대부분의 경우 도시로 수변을 통합함으로써 도시와 항구의 분리를 고착화한다. 이 연구에서는 항구와 도시의 분리 현상을 방치하거나 강화하지 않는, 정반대의 방식으로 대응한 로테르담 ‘도시 항구’ 개념과 그 실행과정을 상헤시 검토한다. 특히 역공간(liminal space) 개념을 도입해로테르담 시 당국의 대응을 분석함으로써, 도시-항구 통합적 정책 프레임이 가지는 특장을 식별한다. 또한 이 논문은 ‘도시 항구’ 개념에서 발견한 수변 공간의 잠재성을 다양한 측면에서 검토한다.
