남북한 통일과 사회변화

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구팀은 ‘남북한 통일과 사회변화’ 연구의 학문적 자생력 강화, 국가‧사회 수요대응, 세계수준 학제융합, 차세대 인재양성을 총적 목적으로 하여“북한의 정치사회 균열: 사회계층과 권력구조의 맞물림과 엇갈림”을 주제로 지난 3년간 연구를 수행하였다. 소형단계에서의 연구 목적은 1990년대 이후 아래로부터 시장화와 위로부터 절대권력 유지로, ‘정체와 급변의 기형적 스펙터클’상황에 있는 북한의 정치사회 균열 구조를 규명하여 북한변화를 체계적으로 분석하고 정책적 함의를 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 20년 이상에 걸친 변화결과 북한에는 80년대까지와는 다른 시스템이 형성되어 있다는 가설을 세우고, 거시적으로 정치권력의 통치행태 뿐 아니라 중범위 수준에서 북한 사회의 공식-비공식 제도 작동, 미시적 행위자들의 행태와 의식에 대한 분석을 통해 국가-사회관계 실제를 규명하는 연구를 진행하였다.
당초 계획했던 연구 목적과 내용에 따라, 지난 20년 이상 자생적 시장화와 함께 전개되어 온 북한 변화를 체계적으로 분석하고, 북한의 사회 계층과 권력 구조의 실태 및 변화의 동력, 특히 2000년대 일정한 유형으로 드러난 북한체제의 성격, 그 유지 및 변화에 작용하는 구성요소, 이들이 상호작용하여 만들어낸 구조와 갈등 양상 등을 분석하여 다수의 연구성과물을 발표하였다. 나아가 남북한의 정권교체, 북한의 핵실험, 개성공단 폐쇄 등과 맞물려 국가 사회적 수요에 부응하기 위해 정책적 함의가 높은 김정은 체제와 한국의 대북통일 정책에 대해 연구를 진행하여 성과물을 발표하였고, 새로운 연구가설과 이론 및 실증조사를 실시하여 학술적 분석력과 실증적 분석력을 결합하여, 본 연구주제의 학술-정책적 파급효과를 향상시키는 연구를 수행했다.
주요 세부 연구내용들은 첫째, 대북/통일 정책적 함의와 처방 관련해 ‘Engaging North Korea with Soft Power,’ ‘북한 핵무기에 대한 북한주민 인식,’ ‘김정은 체제와 세대균열,’ 둘째, 북한정보수집 방법 및 패널 연구모형 설계 관련해 ‘북한연구에서 계량연구 적용,’ 셋째, 심화연구 관련해 ‘권력-부 관계 심화연구,’ ‘북한에서 지대자본주의의 발전,’ ‘북한주민의 소득결정요인 연구,’ ‘북한의 재정체계와 정치경제체제의 성격,’ ‘지대배분체계와 북한체제의 존속 및 생존’ 등이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Our research team has studied on the subject of "A political-social crack in North Korea : the corresponding and mismatching between social class and structure of power" for last three years focusing on enhancing the academic ability to self-study on 'the unification and social changes of Korean Peninsula', satisfying the national and social demand, achieving worldwide educational harmonization and training the next talented generation. The low-level purpose on the study is methodically analysing the changes of North Korea and clarifying its implication as tracing the political-social structure for crack of North Korea, which is in the abnormally spectacular situation caused by coexistence of stagnation and rapid change. For this purpose, we formulated a hypothesis that North Korea currently formed a new system compared to the one existed until the 1980s, and proceeded study to clarify relations between nation and the society by analyzing the power regime at the macro level as well as operation of formal-informal system in North Korean society, and the behavior and consciousness of micro performers at the level of middle range.
