Even if all the Spartan Traditional system was not made by Lycurgos, the lawgiver, Spartans regarded that system was founded by Lycurgos. Because that was more useful to maintain the traditional system. Nevertheless, this system was shaken and collapsed after the last stage of Peloponnesian War, and that collapse was accelerated in the Hellenistic Age. That situation was connected with the economic change of Hellenistic World. And the traditional Spartan economic system was decisively changed by Epitadeus rhetra(law). Even though the rhetra was very important, the whole aspect is vague. Wehen was the rhetra established, and why? In my view, that rhetra was established after 371 B.C., maybe in the 360s B.C.. After the battle of Leuktra, Sparta lost Messenia and considerable change happened in Sparta. It was urgent need to settle down the agitation of Spartan society. Epitadeus rhetra was not peculiar phenomenon in the Hellenistic world. That was a sign for the collapse of the entire system connected with interference of polis in the sphere of economic system of oikos, especially land system. In those days, concentration of land was seen everywhere in Greek world, but that was more destructive in Sparta. So, Epitadeus rhetra was a proof that traditional system was managed no more after the peloponnesian was, especially after the battle of Leuktra. Therefore that was a boundary line of Spartan socio-economic system and a signal lamp of Spartan Revolution.
