국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리는 자연계의 구성과 현상들을 음ㆍ양론의 체계에 맞추어 인식하여 만물의 변화와 생명의 생성 또한 음ㆍ양의 조화 속에서 일어난다고 생각하므로 암ㆍ수의 조화개념도 여기서 나온 것이다. 이 음ㆍ양론적 해석방법을 2천년 이상을 고수하여왔으니 음ㆍ양론은 중국인들과 동양인들의 사고방식에는 마치 유전인자 같이 뿌리 박혀 있는 세계관, 생명관의 근본원리라 할 수 있을 것이다. 그런데 중국인들은 왜 그토록 음ㆍ양론적 해석에 걸맞지 않는 수많은 경험적 지식에도 불구하고 음ㆍ양론을 세계를 인식하는 절대적 지표로 유지하여왔을까? 그것은 일종의 고질적 매너리즘 같은 것일지도 모른다. 생물학적으로 보자면 암ㆍ수의 조화로 이루어지는 것이 아닌 무성생식이 이 지구상엔 월등히 많다. 오늘날의 우리를 포함한 과거의 동양철학자들은 과학에 귀 기울이지 않았다. 현대과학이 입증한대로 이젠 난자만 있으면 암ㆍ수구별 없이 체세포핵 흡착을 통하여 생명체를 생성시킬 수 있다. 음ㆍ양중에 ‘음’만으로도 생식이 가능하다는 것이다. 본 논문이 주장하는 바는 이제는 중국철학도, 첫째, 음ㆍ양론에 기초한 종적인 전통적 남ㆍ여관을 고쳐 잡아야 된다는 것이고, 둘째, 과학이 제시하는 세계의 모습과 새로운 시각을 수렴하여 자기반성을 하며 필요에 따라서는 전통적 체계에서도 벗어날 수 있어야 한다는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We understand natural phenomena according to the principle of Yin/Yang harmony. The idea of male/female harmonical relation concords to the Yin/Yang principle. Yin/Yang concept is the very basic principle in Chinese view of the cosmos and life. But what is it that makes Chinese to hold onto that principle of Yin/Yag against so many empirical knowledge? The historical fact is that it has been more than 2000years. Maybe, it is some kind of residual mannerism. Biologically speaking, asexual reproduction of life forms far exceeds sexual reproduction in the nature. We have not seriously concerned what modern science tells us about life reproduction. We all know that now we can artificially inseminate ovum and sperm or body cell. By implanting technology, we can asexually produce only with ovum and body cells. This is against the principle of Yin/Yang. Thus, this paper will argue, first, we have to newly the traditional male/ female relation that is based on Yin/Yang principle, and second, Chinese philosophy should now regard the stories from science and perhaps brake through the old formation from the ancient system old epistemology.
