‘상처 입은 아버지와 아들’의 회복에 대한 자문화기술지 = An Autoethnography on the Recovery of ‘Wounded Father and Son’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 부자 관계의 갈등과 회복이라는 주제를 다루고 있다. 아버지에 대한 미움의 형성과 갈등의 증폭, 그리고 이해의 계기 등을 기술함으로써 부자관계에서의 회복에 대한 과정을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 자기 관찰 및 분석지, 대화, 사진, 문자 메시지, 강의 등의 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 지속적으로 검토하면서 분석하였고, 주요 범주를 도출하였다. 분석 결과에 대한 해석을 통해 갈등과 회복의 과정을 기술하였다.
“그럴 수밖에 없었던 아버지”를 알아가는 과정을 통해 아버지에 대한 미움이 실은 아버지를 닮은 ‘나’의 작고 초라함에 대한 미움 또는 두려움이었음을 알게 되었다. 결국 작고 초라한 ‘나’와 ‘아버지’의 모습을 수용하는 과정을 통해서 자신과 아버지, 그리고 부자관계가 회복되는 것을 경험할 수 있었다. 아버지를 미워했던 이유는 나를 아프게 했던 아버지의 모습이 내 자신에게도 내면화되어 있었기 때문이었다.
이 연구가 부자간의 갈등으로 인한 어려움을 겪고 있는 이들의 역동을 이해하고, 해결의 단서를 제공하는데 기여하기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is concerned with the conflict and recovery of the relationship between father and son. I would like to investigate the process of recovering the father and son relationship through formation of hatred, amplification of conflict, and chance of understanding. To this end, I collected self- observation and self-analysis memos, dialogues, photos, text messages, lectures, etc. I continually analysed resources and drew some major categories. I described the process of the conflict and recovery through interpretation for the outcomes of analysis.
After getting to know “my father’s best was just that,” I found that the hatred came from the fear of identifying my father’s features that I have, but I didn’t want to. Eventually, I experienced the recovery of myself, my father, and our relationship by accepting the tiny and poor ‘me’ and ‘father.’ In fact, my father’s traits that hurt me was internalized, and that was why I hated him.
This study is expected to contribute to understanding the dynamics of people suffering from the difficulties of father and son relationship, and reasoning out some implications of solutions.
