企業의 品質管理 活動과 競爭力 向上 = QUALITY CONTROL ACTIVITIES AND COMPETITIVE IMPROVEMENT

국문 초록 (Abstract)

70년대와 고도성장을 경험했던 우리나라 기업은 선진국의 보호주의 압력과 후발개도국의 경쟁력 향상으로 대외경쟁 환경의 어려움을 겪고 있다.
이러한 환경의 변화에 대응하고 경쟁력의 강화를 위해 우리나라 기업은 그동안의 경쟁력 기반인 가격 경쟁에서 품질향상과 같은 비가격 경쟁구조로의 변환을 꾀하고 있다. 이에따라 품질관리 활동에 대한 기업의 관심이 고조되고 있다.
본 연구는 기업의 품질관리 활동이 경쟁력 향상에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 여러가지 품질관리 활동중에서 관련있는 요소를 파악하여 품질관리 활동수준을 검토하는 것을 목적으로 문헌연구와 실증연구를 병행하였다.
문헌연구를 통해 기업의 품질관리 활동을 단계화하였고 실증분석결과 품질관리 활동을 활발하게 수행하는 기업의 경쟁력이 동종업종의 다른 기업에 비해 비교적 강한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 기업의 성과와 관련성이 큰 품질관리 활동은 품질관리조직의 활용, 품질관리 교육 및 훈련으로서 품질관리 활동의 도입후 시간이 지방에 따라 상관관계가 높아지고 있다. 또한 품질관리를 수행하는 우리나라 기업의 품질관리 활동수준을 품질관리 발전단계와 관련지어 보면 발전단계의 3단계에서 4단계로 이행하는 과정에 있다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Our firms, which have experienced the progress of economy during the seventies, are confronted with many difficulties because of New Protectionism and other developing country's competitive improvement.
In order to adapt to the changing environment and strengthen the competitive power, our firms must try to change the competition sources from the price-competition to nonprice-competition like quality improvement. So many firms have showed a deep interest in quality control activities.
This study aims to find out the effects of quality control activity on competitve improvement and the correlation factors among the various quality control activities. For this purpose, this study accomplished both literary survey and empirical test.
First, through the literary survey, this study formulates the stages of the quality control activities. The activities categorize into the following six stages.
stage 1, the lack of knowledge in quality and product.
stage 2, the trial of quality control activity in partial.
stage 3, the extension of quality control activities in firm's entirety.
stage 4, preventive quality control.
stage 5, quality assurance.
stage 6, to minimize the society's lose.
Second, the results of empirical test showed that the firm, which is eagerly accomplishing the quality control, has better competitive power than others in the same business.
Also, the most correlative quality control activities, which showed higher correlation with firm's profit than others, are to use the quality control organization, quality control education and trainning. The correlation coefficient of those factors are high over the time. Therefore, with quality control development stage, we conclude that our firm's quality control is progressing on stage 3 or stage 4.
