After graduating from college, I entered the e-commerce industry. As the e-commerce industry has developed dramatically in recent years, with more and more of its peers and more competitive, my business has reached a slow-down bottleneck, unlike its initial smooth start. The outline of my job is to sell products to customers around the world through online platforms. It seems like a simple task, but this task of selling products by responding to customers was not easy for me. Realizing that my ability may still be lacking a lot, I thought I wanted to stop for a while and learn.
After much consideration, I decided to explore the concept of consumption by entering the Department of Culture and Teaching at Kookmin University. In China, there has been a lot of discussion about consumption as the consumer society has arrived in earnest. Among them, I liked the concept of cultural consumption. This is because I thought I could understand what the right consumption is by approaching and understanding consumption as a culture. At the same time, this understanding gave me hope that I could relieve the stress of my work. Accordingly, I started my master's degree in the Department of Cultural Intersection at Kookmin University and decided to study the concept of 'cultural consumption'.
With the rapid development of the Chinese economy and the continuous improvement in the standard of living of the people, the word "cultural consumption" has increasingly entered the realm of people's lives. The concept of 'cultural consumption' has gradually become an important topic in people's daily consumption. In particular, in recent years, fostering and expanding cultural consumption along with the rapid development of the global cultural industry has become the focus and direction of common interest of the government, businesses, and the public. If so, it can be seen that the method of defining 'cultural consumption' is very important, and the method of defining 'cultural consumption' is the key.
The first chapter of the paper focuses on scholars' understanding of "cultural consumption," and through these various understandings, we can understand the importance of determining the concept of "cultural consumption" in more depth. There is a need for a way to eliminate all controversies and fundamentally understand the nature of 'cultural consumption'. The way to do this is 'emotional science'. Therefore, this paper fundamentally uses emotional science as a research method derived from Confucius' Confucian culture. Through this research method, consumption can be understood as an essence, not a phenomenon. Therefore, emotional science is the research base of the concept of 'cultural consumption'.
Based on this study, this paper explored the concept of culture (Chapter 2), the concept of cultural products (Chapter 3), and the concept of consumption of cultural products (Chapter 4). Culture is an inherent essence of our body. It is eternal life and love. Moon is the body, and anger is the change of the body. Since the truth of the body understood by the text is life and love, anger as a change in the body is also life and love. Everything that is created by the body and played by the body exists in life and love. From this fact, cultural products are everything that comes from life and love, so cultural consumption is the consumption of all products that come from life and love.
Therefore, the core of cultural consumption can be established as follows. Cultural consumption is the consumption of life and love of all products that our bodies create for life and love. As long as we understand consumption in this way, consumption is never about accumulating wealth of either party or exploiting either party for the purpose of it. We, who exist in life and love, exchange life and love with each other only for life and love. This is cultural consumption.
