가톨릭 이념과 대구가톨릭대학교 = Catholic Ideology and Daegu Catholic University

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 많은 대학들이 학령인구의 감소와 경제적 어려움 속에서 생존경쟁을 벌이고 있는 현상황에서 가톨릭 학교로서의 이념 실현과 치열한 경쟁관계 속에서 가톨릭대학의 정체성을 유지하면서 어떻게 다른 대학과의 경쟁에서 생존할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위함이다.
이를 위해 1990년 발표된 교황 요한 바오로 2세 「가톨릭 대학교에 관한 교황령」(Ex Corde Ecclesiae)을 중심으로 살펴 볼 것이다.
본교(대구가톨릭대학교)가 일반 대학들과의 경쟁에서 우위를 차지하는 일은 결국 오늘의 현실에서 대학으로서 더욱 가톨릭적인 특성을 찾는 것이고, 다른 대학과 경쟁하기와 가톨릭 대학으로서의 정체성은 서로 대립되는 개념이 아니라 보완되는 개념으로 신앙과 이성을 통한 진리추구를 할 수 있는 공동체, 교육의 중심이 되어야 한다.
또한 인간(휴머니즘)중심의 가톨릭적 사상을 바탕으로 4차 혁명의 시대 변화에 맞춰 시대의 흐름과 미래의 변화를 읽어가는 대학, 가톨릭 사회교리를 실천하여 인간다움 인격체를 양성하는 차별된 학교가 되어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article aims to find ways to survive competition with other universities while maintaining the identity of Catholic universities amid the realization of ideology as a Catholic school and fierce competition among many universities amid the shrinking school-age population and economic difficulties.
To that end, we will focus on Pope John Paul II’s 「Papal decree on the Catholic University」(Ex Corde Ecclesiae), which was announced in 1990.
The fact that this school (Daegu Catholic University) has the upper hand in competition with ordinary universities is to eventually find more Catholic characteristics as a university in today’s reality, and that its identity as a Catholic university and competing with other universities should be the center of community and education that can pursue truth through faith and reason with complementary concepts rather than conflicting concepts.
It should also become a university that reads the trends of the times and future changes in line with the changes of the era of the Fourth Revolution based on the Catholic thought centered on humanism, and a differentiated school that trains humanistic personalities by practicing Catholic social doctrines.
