충주호권의 관광정책에 관한 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The area around Chungju Lake(Chungju City, Chechon City, Tanyang Gun) is located at the center of Korea geographically and has been an important place since olden times.
This area possesses cultural and historical tourism resources such as historical monuments, ruins, sites, Buddhist assets and traditional assets as well as natural tourism resources such as Mt. Worak, Chungju lake, hot spring(Suanbo), cave, rivers, and valles.
This area is also the center of the Chungwon Cultural Assets with historical asset from the pre-historical period through Kokuryo, Shilla, Bakje royalty to Chosun dynasty.
So this area is a place mixed with natural and cultural tourism resources. But there are many obstacles such as transportation, accomodations, recreation facilities, and tour centers for guide.
If this area were to be developed to eliminate these obstacles, it would be a most attractive place mixed natural and cultural recources for tourists to visit here.
The followings are improvements which are necessary to develop tourism resources considering the current tourism status and environment of this area.
1) The planning of development should reflect area residents' opinions taking regional traditions and characteristics partially into account. These will be unique and attractive elements for tourists to visit here.
2) The Government should give the priorities, tax reduction, and financial support to residents to want who invest in tourism industries, establish educational organizations, industries and farms, as the foundation of life to recover lost land due to dam construction. These policies could prevent outflow of residents from this area.
3) The existing tour courses are very simple and depend only on natural scenic beauty. So tourists don't have motivation to visit again. It is necessary to create various tour courses considering age, sex, number of companies, transportation type, purpose of visit, day or long-stay trip, and season. And also tour courses should be a good mix of natural and cultural reources classified with location, ages, characteristics. Accomodations such as hotel, motel, and restaurant and recreational facilities such as sports centers, swimming pool, and picnic land should be improved and established in quality and quantity. Trasitional style and design for them would be preferable.
4) This area is a little far from the express highway and local and regional roads are not paved fully and are narrow. So it is necessary to build a subexpress highway between interchanges of the highway and this area and all road revelant to tourism should be paved and expanded with highest priority. The road sign systems should be improved.
Rail transport systems should be improved in quality and quantity in order for tourist to use them efficiently.
5) The departments relevant to development such as history, geography, and agricuture should be established and increased in the research institutes of this area to discover, develop and protect natural and cultural resources. And priorities should be given to them rather than other regional research teams and sponsored by the regional or local government.
Finally, this area should be developed as a national tourism area first and an international tourism area to contribute to increase residents' income, to use this area efficiently, to protect and reserve natural and cultural resources.
