정지용 시 「카페 프란스」의 감각적 읽기: 인지시학의 직시이동이론을 중심으로 = The Feeling of Reading a Poem of Ji-yong Jeong, ‘Café France’: Focusing on Deictic Shift Theory of Cognitive Poetics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to study ‘Café France’ of Ji-yong Jeong, using Deictic Shift Theory of Cognitive Poetics. Throughout the past discussions, ‘Café France’ was analyzed in order to discuss the modern time and perceptive problems, and the recreation of modernity. The discussions have established one set of process of understanding ‘Café France.’ Poetry naturally desires to obtain a variety way of understanding. Attempts to read the poems in many different ways are the way to show present values of the poems. Therefore, the study suggests a variety of reading methods to understand poems according to deictic shift theory at reader’s level.
First of all, divide poem into two parts based on spatial deictic areas in poem—the first to fourth stanza as the first part and the fifth to ninth stanza as the second part. In chapter 2, understanding of deixis, numbers of lines in a stanza, syntax structure, speaker, etc. in the first to fourth stanza are studied with a variety of deictic shift theory. In chapter 3, studying description of space of the café’s interior is continued to description of ‘My’ feeling; thus, contents of the speaker are analyzed. Then, existing things inside the café will be analyzed in a view of readers.
This poem has unclear speaker because of incomplete syntactic structure and it is difficult to understand its contents. In addition, the vague subjects confuse the reader’s understanding. However, hidden speaker or vague deixis, structure of the lines in a stanza, incomplete syntactic structure, etc. direct the audiences to the various deictic areas. As a result, in a view of reader, understanding of poem varies.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 정지용의 「카페 프란스」를 인지시학의 직시이동이론을 통해 고찰하고자 한다. 기존의 논의에서는 근대와 시선의 문제, 근대성의 재현이라는 측면을 논하기 위해 「카페 프란스」를 분석하였다. 이와 같은 논의는 이후 「카페 프란스」의 이해 과정의 한 전형을 성립시켰다. 시는 본질상 이해의 다양성을 획득하려고 한다. 시를 다양하게 읽으려는 시도는 시의 현재적 가치를 증명하는 길이 된다. 따라서 본고에서는 직시이동이론을 통해 독자 차원에서 수용될 수 있는 다양한 시 읽기의 가능성을 고찰할 것이다.
먼저 시를 공간적 직시의 영역에 따라 1~4연을 전반부로, 5~9연을 후반부로 나눈다. 그리고 2장에서는 시의 전반부인 1~4연에 나타난 지시어, 대구 형식, 통사 구조, 발화자 등에 대한 이해를 다양한 차원의 직시 이동을 통해 고찰할 것이다. 3장에서는 카페 내부의 공간 묘사가 ‘나’의 내면의 정서로 이어짐을 고찰할 것이다. 이를 위해 발화자의 직접 발화의 내용을 분석할 것이다. 그리고 카페 내부의 존재들에 대한 독차 측면의 이해를 다양한 직시 영역으로 살펴볼 것이다.
이 시는 불완전한 통사구조로 발화자를 특정할 수 없게 되어 내용 이해에 어려움을 준다. 또한 지시하는 대상에 대한 모호함은 독자에게 해석의 다양성을 유발한다. 그러나 감춰진 발화자나 지시어의 모호함, 대구를 이루는 구조, 불완전한 통사구조 등은 독자를 다양한 차원의 직시 영역으로 이동하게 하여 독자 측면에서의 시의 이해를 다양하게 만드는 효과를 내고 있다는 점을 고찰할 것이다.
