Gadamer의 존재론적 사유를 통한 “경험중심교육”의 반성적 고찰 = A Reflection on “Experience-Based Education” through Gadamer's Ontological Thought

국문 초록 (Abstract)

경험중심교육(체험학습 포함)은 J. Locke의 경험론을 기점으로 본다고 해도 결코 적지 않은 역사를 가지고 있다. 그러나 암기지식중심의 학교교육에 치여서 오늘날 경험중심교육은 현장에서 거의 뒷전 아니면 ‘부수적 교육’의 상황에 놓여 있다. 물론 대안학교운동 및 체험학습 프로그램 등을 통하여 경험중심교육은 교육현실에서 점차 그 비중을 높여가고 있다. 본 연구는 철학자 H. G. Gadamer의 존재론적 사유를 통하여 “경험 및 체험”의 개념을 (재)검토해 보고자 한다. 이를 통하여 본고는 크게 두 가지 목표를 가지고 있는데, 첫째, 경험교육 및 체험학습이 계속해서 인식론적 차원에서만 이루어진다면, 유한자로서의 개인 인식의 한계 내에서 교육이 이루어질 수밖에 없다는 사실을 밝혀 내는 것이다. 둘째, 교육이 진정 삶의 전반을 도와야 한다면 인식론적 차원의 경험교육 및 체험학습은 오히려 진정한 교육(학)적 의미를 반감시키거나 아니면 그 의미를 왜곡시킬 수도 있다는 사실을 밝혀내는 것이다. 왜냐하면 교육(학)연구에서 객관적 인식을 핑계로 전체로서의 존재를 망각하는 것은 커다란 손실이기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

‘Experience-based education’ has a deep history and tradition, even if we can follow up only into Locke's empiricism, not Aristotle's. Today, it is, however, neglected and regarded as ‘side activities’ by ‘memorizing education of knowledge’ that prevails in our educational reality. Through the alternative school movements and programs of experiential learning, it continues to promote its influence in the educational world. This study focuses on reflective review in the concepts of ‘experience’ and ‘lived (inner) experience’ through H. G. Gadamer's ontological philosophy and thought. Two objectives should be clarified through our study. Firstly, ‘experience-based education’ will be meaningless for educational reforming in the future, if such education continues to be performed only in the epistemological dimension. Especially, it is great loss to forget the being as an entity because of searching for the objective knowledge for educational studies. Secondly, educational researches may reduce the educational meaning and furthermore manipulate educational meaning with experience-based education in epistemological dimension, if education should devote to help the fulfillment of students' lives.
