In summary, we have maintained throughout this study that Dewey's theory of valuation faces serious difficulties as it now stands. We have attempted in this study to show what the methodological errors in Dewey's theory of valuation are.
As this study has been concerned primarily with the relation of the immediate and the mediate in the methodology of Dewey's theory of valuation, it remains to bring into focus the meanings of immediacy and mediation. And the proposed interpretation of the distinction between the immediate and the mediate is that there are levels of immediacy, and as the discrimination method of the immediacy and the mediation is concerned with "the special prohlematic situation", Dewey's so called methodological unity in value inquring is in itself in contradiction. The concept of continuity and circularity in Dewey's naturalistic experience is found equal one with Hegel's didactics, so that it involves the same problems and errors as the logic of didactics retains. Thus, we have found those limitations and errors in Dewey's methodology of valuation.
