In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a company's survival depends on its dynamic capabilities, the ability to respond to market and technological changes with rapid innovation and to allocate all resources quickly and efficiently. Social enterprises that pursue mixed goals with relatively scarce resources and small size are in urgent need of strengthening their dynamic capabilities to create social impact, but there are few studies on dynamic capabilities of social enterprises. The purpose of this study is to identify 'governance capabilities,' 'external resource utilization capabilities,' and 'digital communication capabilities' as core capabilities that can measure the dynamic capabilities of social enterprises, and to analyze the impact of these factors on the financial and non-financial performance of social enterprises.
To achieve the research objectives, questionnaires were distributed to a random sample of Gyeonggi-do small business associations and companies participating in government support programs in the metropolitan area and Gyeonggi Province for 4 months. Out of a total of 1,800 questionnaires, 226 were returned, and 204 were used for the final analysis after excluding 22 non-responses. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling to derive the research results. The results of the analysis showed that organizational governance capabilities, external resource utilization capabilities, and digital communication capabilities have a positive impact on sustainable management performance, supporting the research hypothesis.
