    Optical burst switching network is a very promising network technology for constructing optical network using packet technology. In optical burst switching networks, the fiber delay line buffer is required to maintain the interval between a data burst which is composed of multiple packets transmitted as optical signal and a control packet which is used to control the data burst processed as electrical signal. Among many problems such as optical signal processing, burst contention resolution, optical memory, the urgent one is the solution for burst contention. In this work, a new method to decide the optimal length of fiber delay line buffer based on a heuristic AI algorithm is proposed.
