      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Psoas compartment block (PCB) has been used for thigh, leg and lumbar area pain. It is now known to be safe and available to advocate for patients with lower extremity pain. Psoas compartment block was performed for the treatment of the lower extremity pain in a 61-year-old woman, complaining of sudden left thigh and inguinal pain. One day after the PCB, her body temperature was elevated and the leg pain aggravated by adduction of the left femur, suggestive of a psoas abscess. A huge abscess was found in the psoas major muscle on the immediate magnetic resonance image (MRI), and empirical antibiotics were administered. After a month, her left leg pain had subsided, and an MRI showed a diminished abscess pocket. Immediate laboratory check up and radiological examination are recommended for patients with fever and pain after blocks.
