대학캠퍼스의 소리풍경 변화의 양상과 사회문화의 변용 : 전남대학교 용봉캠퍼스를 중심으로 = The Change of Soundscape in University Campus and the Sociocultural Acculturation :A Case in the Chonnam National University Yongbong Campus

This study aims to examine the phenomena and changes of the soundscape from the ecological and sociocultural viewpoint of the university campus. It attempts to rediscover the scene of the university campus through sounds and explores how the emotions and culture interacting aesthetically with the environment through sounds are expressed on the campus. A survey form of listening for individual responses was prepared for the members of the Chonnam National University Yongbong Campus, and the survey consisted of the respondents' personal attributes(5 items) and university campus soundscapes(16 items, free responses). It is understood that the Yongbongians meaningfully recollect the sounds of nature, such as the chirping of the birds, the sounds of the assembly and protests for democratization that is closely related with the May 18 Democratization Movement. The sounds of the rich natural environment of the campus, the activities, and lifestyle of the members influence the formation of the soundscape. The changes of the time and the seasons are closely related to the ecological environment, activities, and lifestyles of the members, affecting the types and characteristics of the soundscape resources on the campus and even inducing rhythm and tempo changes in the soundscape. This research, based on the ideology of the soundscape, expands the scene that has been viewed through the visual sense, to the scene perceived through the whole body sense with the auditory perception. It is meaningful because it is an attempt to rediscover a new attraction that is different from the scenery that has been viewed only by the eyes, realizing the existence of the soundscape resources of the university campus.
