(Background and Purpose) With the advancement of the rural revitalization strategy, developing livable rural communities has become a key objective for enhancing the quality of life for rural residents and promoting balanced urban-rural development. Convenience, a crucial aspect of livable communities, includes public services, transportation, and resource accessibility. However, current research on rural community convenience is fragmented and lacks a systematic framework, particularly in the context of rural China. This study aims to scientifically identify and classify convenience factors relevant to livable rural communities in China, providing a theoretical foundation and practical guidance for improving rural convenience. (Method) The research methodology consists of three main steps: First, through a systematic literature review, the study examined domestic and international research related to the convenience of livable communities and initially identified 38 convenience factors. Second, the Delphi method was employed to conduct two rounds of expert surveys, refining the list to 30 convenience factors applicable to rural areas in China. Third, experts were invited to score the similarity of the 30 factors, and multidimensional scaling (MDS) was used to analyze and classify the factors based on their similarity. (Results) The initially identified 38 convenience factors were progressively refined through expert evaluations of applicability using the Delphi method. In the first round of surveys, five factors were deemed to have low applicability to rural communities in China and were directly eliminated, while six factors required further consideration. In the second round, experts reached a consensus regarding these six factors, with three being identified as having low applicability and subsequently removed. Ultimately, 30 convenience factors applicable to livable rural communities in China were selected. The 30 convenience factors are categorized into five main groups: convenience of public services, convenience of cultural and recreational activities, convenience of transportation and mobility, convenience of daily life and resource accessibility, and convenience of digital information. (Conclusions) This study utilized the Delphi method to identify convenience factors suitable for livable rural communities in China. By employing multidimensional scaling (MDS), the study effectively revealed the similarities and interrelations among the factors, constructing a classification framework for convenience factors applicable to China's rural communities. The results demonstrate that the five categories of factors complement and synergize with one another in enhancing the convenience of rural communities, collectively improving the quality of life and advancing the sustainable development and modernization of rural communities.
