주택파손 피해자의 심리적 충격 변화에 관한 추적조사 연구 = Longitudinale Study on the Psychological Trauma of Victims of Housing Damage

In many cases, trauma is overcome in a short periodtime, but for some, trauma results in long-term mental health issues such as in theform of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Natural disasters cause different types and extent of damage, meaning the degree ofstress experienced also varies. In the case of damage to a house, the impact can be considerable. Therefore, this study examined thetrauma experienced by households whose homes were damaged by natural disasters and to confirm the characteristics of psychologicaltrauma. It was confirmed that traumas was greater when a house was damaged, compared with damage to other types of items. Inaddition, even in the case of trauma occurring, factors that affect the pattern of change to someone’s mental state vary depending onthe state’s classification. And In addition, health services is significantly analyzed in all variables, and it was considered that theprovision of basic services related to safety after a disaster is paramount. However, while psychological counseling has a positive effecton short-term traumas that manifests as anxiety and depression, it has an adverse effect on PTSD because of the depth and complexityof the suffering in PTSD, meaning the type of psychological support needs changing.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

자연재해는 지역사회 전반에 극심한 스트레스를 발생시킨다. 다수의 경우 시간의 흐름에 따라 충격을 극복하지만, 일부는 PTSD와 같은 장기적인 정신적 피해를 경험하게 된다. 이에 재난과 심리적 충격에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있지만, 여전히 부족한 수준이다. 자연재해는 시설 붕괴, 인명피해 등 다양한 피해를 야기하기에 피해자가 경험하는 피해의 종류가 다르며, 경험하는 상실의 정도에도 차등이 있다. 특히 자연재해로 인한가장 흔한 피해인 주택파손의 경우 피해자가 경험하는 충격은 매우 크다. 따라서 본 연구는 자연재해로 주택이 파손된 가구가 경험하는 심리적충격을 확인하고, 추적연구를 통해 심리적 충격이 변화하는 특성을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 주택이 파손된 경우 심리적 충격이 더 크게 나타나 주택의 파손으로 인한 심리적 충격이 다른 피해로 인한 충격보다 더 큰 것을 확인했다. 또, 재난으로 인해 발생하는 심리적 충격이라고 할지라도 불안, 우울, PTSD 그리고 전반적인 심리적 충격 등 그 성격에 따라 변화 양상에 영향을 미치는 요인이 다른 것으로 나타났다. 그 중, 보건의료 서비스는 모든 변수에서 유의하게 분석돼 재난 이후 안전과 관련된 기본서비스의 제공이 가장 필요로 된다고 해석된다. 또, 재난구호서비스중 심리 안정 지원은 불안, 우울과 같은 단기적인 충격에는 긍정적인 영향을 미치나, 심리적 영향이 가중된 PTSD에서는 오히려 역효과를 보여심리지원체계의 변화 및 발전이 요구된다고 할 수 있다.
