      In order to provide soldiers with a spiritual education proper for the changing times, appropriate changes in not only educational contents and composition but also educational methods and educational media are needed. Currently, considering that the commercialization and supplies of digital media using IT technology are brisk in the social sector, and teaching-learning theories and models for applying this effectively to education are being developed and used, a change in a spiritual education for soldiers is needed as well. Particularly, if the characteristics of soldiers accustomed to the educational methods and media using society`s advanced IT technology are not reflected, but the purpose and values of spiritual education are simply listed and repeated, the achievement of the purpose of spiritual education is difficult. In this condition, virtual reality(VR) that can increase the immersion of learners and provide them with the effect like reality can be a good alternative. Especially, since many parts of spiritual educational tasks are the contents that can not be experienced in reality, virtual reality(VR) that can provide learners with various experiences difficult to experience easily in the real world can be a useful educational method and medium in terms of achieving the purpose of spiritual education as well. However, in order to apply virtual reality(VR) to spiritual education, an instructional design model in which the elements of education and fun blend adequately is needed, and by applying an educational theory like Goal-Based Scenarios(GBS), educational contents can be composed. Based on this theory, with the result that this study composed a task of spiritual tasks of Ministry of National Defence as actual contents for a virtual reality(VR) spiritual education and proceeded with an evaluation of an educational program, it could be seen that providing soldiers with a high realization is possible. Accordingly, the application of a spiritual education of a virtual reality will help the purpose of a spiritual education to be achieved and become a new educational instrument in an era of change when IT technology affects society as a whole.
