지식기반 검색 모델에 관한 기초 연구 = Basic Research on Knowlege Base Retrieval Model

국문 초록 (Abstract)

문헌을 저장하고 검색하는 정보검색에 관한 연구가 오래 전부터 진행되어 오고 있다. 그러나, 기존의 정보검색 시스템은 모든 사용자의 요구사항을 충분히 만족시켜주지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 왜냐하면, 기존의 정보검색 시스템에서 주로 사용하는 불리언 기법은 사용자의 질의문과 완전히 일치되는 문헌만을 제공하고 부분적으로 일치하는 문헌은 제공하지 못하고 있으며, 또한 계속 변화되는 사용자의 요구사항을 충족시키지 못하기 때문이다. 지식베이스를 이용한 정보검색 시스템에 관한 연구는 기존의 문헌 정보검색 시스템이 안고 있는 제반 문제점들을 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 제기되어, 1980년대 이후에는 인공지능을 이용한 전문가 시스템과 지능형 정보검색 시스템에 관한 연구가 특히 활발하게 진행되었다. 본 연구과제의 궁극적인 목적은 보다 효율적인 정보검색을 구축하기 위한 새로운 방향에 따라 지식기반 정보검색 모델 구축을 위한 기초기술을 연구하는 것이다.
본 연구의 수행대상은 지금까지 지식기반 검색모델 분야에서 발표된 논문들을 조사하고, 각 시스템의 구조와 지식표현 방법, 질의표현 및 처리과정에 대한 특성을 비교 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과로는 지식기반 검색모델 개발에 필요한 여러 분야를 지금까지 연구된 여러 이론들을 조사하고, 앞으로 정보검색 시스템이 추구해야 할 바람직한 방향을 제시한다. 이 논문은 현재까지 연구되고 구현되어서 실제로 사용되고 있는 지식기반 검색 시스템을 토대로, 그에 관한 기초기술을 자세히 알려주기 때문에 국내의 지식기반 정보검색 시스템을 개발하는 많은 도움을 주리라 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Even though a lot of researches for the information retrieval system which can store and retrieve documents have been performed for many years, it is still not easy to find any implementation which is good enough to completely satisfy all user's requests.
Such situation is caused by following facts; 1) the previous information retrieval systems usually use boolean method in which only exactly method documents are not retrieved, and 2) it is not easy to satisfy the user's requests which are continuously changing. After the information retrieval system using knowledge base was suggested as an alternative which can resolve the problems appearing in previous normal document retrieval systems, many researches for expert system for document retrieval and intelligent information retrieval system using artificial intelligence technology have been actively performed since around 1980. The final goal of this project is to study and analyze the base technology needed to establish a knowledge-based information retrieval model following the new direction suggested for more efficient information retrieval system construction.
The object of this research is to survey the previously announced papers related to knowledge-based information retrieval model, and to compare and analysis the architecture, the knowledge representation method, and the query representation and query processing sequence of each previously announced system. The followings detail the contents be performed in the this research.
Since this research report contains detail description of the technology of knowledge-based information retrieval system based on some researches and real implementation being done until recently, it will be very helpful to develop new knowledge-base information retrieval system.
