여성 정치와 페미니즘 정치 사이: 촛불혁명 이후 젠더 민주주의 구축을 위한 모색 = Between Women’s Politics and Feminist Politics, Towards gender democracy after Candle light revolution

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper begins with the analysis of gender dynamics embedded in the series of political events, from the candle light revolution, the impeachment of the first female president, the presidential election to the the Moon Administration. Whilst the aftershock of the candle light revolution has been maintained by feminist movements, such as Me_Too campaigns, campaigns to legalize abortion and spy-cam protests, the male monopoly in politics with the regeneration of masculinism during and after the revolution has left intact, as demonstrated in the 2018 local election. Given that there is a double tension between women’s politics that places an emphasis on women’s presence in representative politics and feminist politics that maintains the importance of direct democracy with feminist agendas, this paper suggests that the relationship between women’s politics and feminist politics be articulated through the reconfiguration of the political and women’s representation. This is critical to achieve gender democracy, which is centred on the triangle of redistribution- recognition-representation for gender justice. It argues that this transition for gender democracy is to complete the candle light revolution, which can be primarily done through transformation of political systems, that is, reforms of electoral system and constitutional remaking, ensuring the increase in women’s political representation.
