      An experimental investigation has been carried out on the flow by cross-flow fan system with a simplified vortex wall scroll casing. A cross-flow fan test rig was constructed to obtain pressure rise and volume flow rate for various fan types. Experimental methodology adopts PIV technique, static pressure measurements, and pitot tubes for velocity measurements. The detailed design and performance prediction method for the cross-flow fans has not been yet published in open literatures. This study also developed a performance prediction code based on the mean streamline analysis. Predicted performance curves agree well with experimental data for two different kinds of cross-flow fans. The prediction method presented herein can be used efficiently as a tool for the performance analysis of general-purpose cross-flow fans. Also the two results are in good agreement.
