아동의 성·연령·기질과 놀이성 군(群)에 관한 연구 = The study of Children's sex, age, temperament and playfulness type

The purposes of this study were : 1) to classify the types of playfulness of the Korean children from 3- to 5-year olds, 2) to investigate the relationship between the types of playfulness and their sex, age, temperament.
The subjects of this study were 132 children from 3- to 5-year olds. The instruments used for this study were the modified CPS(Children's Playfulness Scale) and TRS(Temperament Rating Scale). The data were analyzed by cluster analysis, χ2 test, one-way·ANOVA, logistic regression analysis.
The major findings were as follows :
1) 'Initiative - Active','Passive Participation', and 'Hesitative - Onlooking' playfulness types were identified from 3-5 year old Korean children. Most children were classified in 'Initiative - Active' type, 'Hesitative - Onlooking' type and 'Passive Participation' type were ranked as the second and the third largest gruop respectively.
2) There were sex differences in types of playfulness. Boys were more classified in 'Initiative - Active' type, but girls were more classified in 'Hesitative - Onlooking' type.
3) There were no age differences in types of playfulness.
4) Reactivity of the TRS were different among the three types of playfulness. The Reactivity scores of 'Hesitative - Onlooking' Children were lowest among the three types of playfulness.
5) Children's sex and reactivity were found important in predicting the types of playfulness. Boys had more possibility to rate as 'Initiative - Active' playfulness type, and children who were low in Reactivity of the TRS had more possibility to rate as 'Hesitative - Onlooking' playfulness type.
