미국의 장기요양서비스 성과관리체계에 대한 고찰 : 홈케어 서비스를 중심으로 = A Review on Performance Management Systems in Long-Term Care in the United Sates

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to review performance management systems in long-term care in the USA. This paper looks at evaluation methods for quality of long-term care in the country. Based on literature reviews on evaluation systems in long-term care services, there are two main types of evaluation systems. The first evaluation system for long term care is Home Health Compare that is managed by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS). CMS provide information on quality of care service of long-term care facilities. The second system is private organizations such as Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc.(ACHC), Community Health Accreditation Program(CHAP), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations(JCAHO) and Home care
University(HCU), which give accreditation to long-term care agencies. In addition, several measurements for evaluating quality of long-term care are employed by geriatric researchers. A review on performance management systems in long-term care in the USA would be very useful for Korean government and researchers to develop evaluation systems for monitoring the quality of elder care services.
