배경 및 목적: 학령전기 말더듬아동의 치료는 치료목표와 치료대상에 따라 크게 간접치료와 직접치료로 나뉜다. 하지만 치료방법과는 상관없이 두 방법 모두 학령전기 말더듬아동의 치료에는 부모의 참여가 핵심적이다. 본 연구는 학령전기 말더듬아동의 부모가 치료에 참여하면서 느끼는 경험을 분석하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 방법: 본 연구는 질적 연구방법을 사용하여 학령전기 말더듬아동 부모의 치료경험을 분석하였다. 총 여섯 명 말더듬아동 어머니의 인터뷰를 근거이론에 따라 분석하였다. 결과: 분석 결과, 총 네 개의 클러스터가 확인되었다. 네 개의 클러스터는 각각 말더듬 치료를 받으면서 학령전기 말더듬아동의 부모가 느끼는 감정의 변화, 치료 목표의 변화, 변화 주체로의 인식 변화, 치료에 영향을 주는 요소였다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구결과는 학령전기 말더듬아동의 치료는 종합적이어야 하며, 부모가 긍정적인 책임감을 갖는 것으로 변화가 이루어지는 것이 치료에 중요하다는 것을 시사한다.

Background & Objectives: Treatment of pre-school children who stutter (CWS) can be categorized into direct and indirect treatments according to treatment goals and targets. However, parental involvement is necessary for the treatment of pre-school PWS regardless of treatment strategy. The purpose of the current study was to explore experiences of parents of pre-school CWS taking part in indirect treatment. Method: A qualitative research design was used in the current study for analyzing treatment involvement experiences of pre-school CWS. Interviews of six mothers were analyzed following the grounded theory. Results: Four clusters were identified from the interview: changes in emotions of mothers of pre-school CWS taking part in the treatment, changes in treatment goals, changes in cognition toward greater agency, and factors influential for treatment. Discussion & Conclusion: The results from the present study suggest that treatment of pre-school CWS be comprehensive. In addition, a change toward "positive" responsibility of parents is also important in stuttering treatment.
