現代 佛畵 製作技法에 관한 硏究 = Study on the skills of Modern Buddhist-painting

Until now, the work of Buddhist paintings. regarding Buddhist paintings as object of worship has been performed in Korea. This essay describes skill of Buddhist paintings which has been done recently.
Because of shortage of records and insufficient documentary reaches. most of skills of Buddhist paintings depend on monk and painters who have been engaged in paintings since the last stage of 19th century.
Buddhism and Buddhist art have the same origin in India. Earlier Buddhist art originated from symbolic figures generated Buddha image and the area of Buddhist paintings hot shaped. with Buddha image largely emerging in paintings.
With the development of Mahayana(대승불교), Buddhist paintings got divided into various formals and more refined. The work of Buddhist paintings expended as object of as Buddha image.
Generally, Buddhist paintings mean paintings that ornamented on the Building or paintings that was drawned on the Buddhist instrument of ceremony. But now Buddhist paintings narrowly mean the paintings hung behind buddha image in the main room or fresco.
This essay refers the sorts of Buddhist paintings with treating the concept, the origin and the background of buddhist paintings, putting name of every shape of image through pictures. arranging figures used in Buddhist paintings, showing the typical forms as a drawing. I showed the materials of making Buddhist paints and searched for the manner of using materials and the skill of Tangwha(탱화) and Danchung(단청). Also, with looking over meaning of making modern Buddhist paintings. I mention problem of future Buddhist painting and infer pedigree of Buddhist paintings since the last stage of 19th century.
I search for concept concerned with making Buddhist paintings not only well known but also traditionally handed-down from mouth to mouth.
Buddhist paintings as object of worship more and more spread out their meaning to common people as object of religion and their importance get much more realized. Since Buddhist introduced to Korea. numerous Buddhist paintings have been made and also now so many things are being made but the skill of painting get declined. We should be handed down paintings mode of the time when sill had been on the peak and should re-create modern buddhist paintings. We should not give bad effect to influence of Buddhism. through making Buddhist paintings of low quality.
