기독교적 가족관의 확장을 위한 가정연계 “효”실천 유아인성교육의 실제

국문 초록 (Abstract)

21세기 비규범적, 도덕적 상대주의의 탈근대주의 가치관의 영향과 한국사회의 다문화·저출산·고령화 현상 속에서 다양한 가정의 형태가 생기고 전통적인 가치관과 서구화의 가치관 사이의 갈등구조 속에서 가정과 교회는 위기 속에 있다. 이 논문은 21세기 가정의 위기 속에서 진정한 가정에 대한 정체성을 성경 속에서 재조명하고 관련 가족이론들과의 통합적인 시도를 통하여, 하나님이 의도하신 가족의 의미를 살펴보고 실제 현장에서 그 의미를 시도해 봄으로써 21세기 변화된 환경 속에서 건강하고 행복한 가정을 형성시켜나갈 뿐 아니라 혈연적 가정의 경계를 넘어서서 이웃으로 향하는 가족의 확장적 개념의 실천 가능성을 시도해 보고자 하였다. 특별히 고령화 시대에 접어든 한국 가정 내에서 노인부양에 대한 문제로 가족 간 갈등이 심각해지고 있다. 이에 경기도의 한 유치원에서 만 4세 유아들을 대상으로 가정과 연계하여 가족의 확장적 개념의 가능성을 실시해 보았다. 먼저 한국의 전통적 기본윤리 가치관인, ‘효’사상을 성경적 시각으로 재조명하여 ‘효’의 신학적 개념을 정리하고 이를 연령에 적합한 통합적 교육적 접근을 시도하였다. 어린 유아들과 함께 10회기 다양한 활동들을 가정과 연계하여 효 실천과제를 실시한 것이다. 가족의 뿌리를 알아보고, 조부모님들의 특성을 알아보며 부모공경이라는 효를 실천하고 연계 교육활동들을 실시하였다. 이 과정을 통하여 조부모님에 대한 유아들의 생각과 태도에 변화가 나타났고 동시에 예상치 않았던 결과도 나타났다. 조부모님에 대해 알아가고 부모와 함께 조부모님을 공경하는 ‘효’ 실천 활동을 통하여 유아들은 조부모님과 부모님께 감사할 뿐 아니라 이웃 어른들에 대한 공경과 사랑의 마음으로 확장되어 나갔다. 유아들의 변화뿐 아니라 유아들과 함께 ‘효’ 실천 과제를 도왔던 부모들과 이 활동을 지도한 교사에게 변화가 온 것이다. 자신들의 부모에 대한 ‘효’의 태도를 돌아보는 계기가 되었고 유아들과 함께 가족의 사랑이 혈연관계를 넘어서 지역사회에로 확장되어 나가는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 유아기에 삼세대 부모공경을 통한 이웃사랑의 정신이 내재화되어 참된 인성을 갖춘 미래의 인재들을 키워나가기 위해 지속적인 연구와 실천이 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the 21st century, the effects of non-normative moral relativism found in post-modernist values and the changes in South Korean society caused by multiculturalization/ lowering birth rate/ aging population have led to the formulation of varied forms of family, and in the resulting structural conflict between traditional and westernized values, the family as well as the church are in crisis. This paper seeks to shed new light on the identity of authentic family in today’s 21st century familial crisis through a Biblical framework bolstered by the integration of related family theories, resulting in an examination of God’s intended meaning of family and an assay of its practical application, thereby developing the concept of not only a healthy and blissful family able to thrive in the changed environment of the 21st century, but also the possibility of an expanding definition of family that extends to the local community, capable of transcending familial boundaries drawn by blood relations. Especially noteworthy. with South Korea’s entrance into an era of an aging population, is the problem of elderly care, which has become a worsening conflict within South Korean families as of late. In response, a kindergarten located in Kyunggi Province assuaged the possibility of an expanding definition of family through a study on 4-year -old children, conducted in coordination with their respective families. After first reinterpreting ‘hyo’ (filial piety), a traditional and foundational moral value in Korea, from a biblical perspective, an attempt was made to organize the theological conceptualization of ‘hyo’, which was then applied, age appropriately, via an integrated educational approach, to the toddlers. With the cooperation of their families, the toddlers, in about ten sessions of various activities, were held ‘hyo’ as a practice subject. By learning the origins of their respective families and the characteristics of their grandparents, the toddlers put into practice ‘hyo’ in the form of respecting one’s parents, and went through related educational activities. Through this process, changes occurred in the thought patterns and behavior of the toddlers; simultaneously, other unexpected results also took place. As the toddlers learned about their grandparents and put into practice ‘hyo’ in the form of venerating their grandparents, together with their own parents, the toddlers not only became more appreciative of their grandparents and parents, but also found an expanding respect and loving heart for other elders and adults in their surrounding vicinity. However, not only were the toddlers affected, but a change also came to the parents who participated in the practical application of ‘hyo’ and the teachers who led the activities. The activities provided an opportunity for the teacher to reflect upon their own attitudes towards their own parents as well as to achieve toddlers’ life-change experience in character education. The family-jointed character education activity through ‘hyo’ to toddlers in kindergarten resulted in making filial piety extend beyond the boundaries of blood-based family relations into the local community. In order to raise tomorrow’s leaders, through the tri-generational emphasis of ‘hyo’ during early childhood, to have sincere personalities incorporating a spirit of neighborly love, continual research and practical application is required.
