학교부적응 문제를 보이는 청소년에 대한 가족치료 다중사례연구 = Family Therapy for Adolescents with School Maladjustment Problems

Objectives: This study investigated methods of treating adolescents’ school maladjustment problems through family intervention. Methods: The researchers used constant comparative analysis and open coding to analyze multiple cases. Results: The researchers identified several types of school maladjustment on the part of adolescents: school refusal, smoking and drinking, problematic peer relations, low morale, being late in returning home, and running away from home. Parents coped by not taking their children’s sides, blaming their children, using abusive language and violence, preaching, and mistrusting their children. Therapists intervened by reinforcing insight (through probing the families), reflecting on attempted interactional methods, and suggesting new interactional methods. Changes in the families included new cognitions about the ineffectiveness of attempted interactional methods, shifts in functional interactional methods, and children making adjustments to school. Conclusions: The researchers concluded that family members’ functional interactions are very important for adolescents with school maladjustment problems.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 학교부적응과 관련된 가족개입의 방법을 제시하는 데 있다. 다중사례를 지속적인 비교분석방법을 통하여 범주화하여 분석한 결과, 첫째, 학교부적응 양상은 등교거부, 흡연 및 음주, 교우관계 문제, 의욕부진, 늦은 귀가 및 가출로 나타났으며, 부모의 대처반응은 편들어주지 않음, 자녀 탓으로 돌림, 폭언과 폭력, 훈계, 믿어주지 않음으로 나타났다. 둘째, 치료자의 개입기법은 가족탐색에 의한 통찰력 강화, 시도된 상호작용방식 조명, 새로운 상호작용방식 적용 제시로 나타났으며, 가족의 변화는 시도된 상호작용방식의 비효과성 인식, 기능적인 상호작용방식, 자녀의 학교적응으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 학교부적응 문제를 보이는 청소년에게 가족의 기능적인 상호작용방식이 중요하다는 것을 보여준다.
