지역아동센터 이용 아동의 만족도와 사회적 능력에 관한 연구 = Study on child's level of satisfaction and social ability among children who attend to the local child center

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간은 출생 그 순간부터 한 사회의 구성원으로서 사회적 환경과의 상호작용을 경험할 뿐 아니라, 이후 육체적 성장, 정신적 발달의 변화를 거치면서 끊임없이 사회화 과정을 경험하게 된다. 따라서 아동이 다양한 경험을 통해 사회 문화적 자극을 받으면서 사고의 폭을 넓혀야 하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 그러나 저소득층 아동들은 가정의 빈곤으로 인해 어릴 적부터 사회와 학교에서 절대적 또는 상대적 빈곤감과 문화적 박탈감을 경험하면서 성장하게 된다. 이러한 아동의 열악한 가정과 학교의 교육환경의 현실을 보완해 주기 위하여 지역아동센터는 저소득층 아동들에게 보다 안정된 교육프로그램 환경, 물리적 환경뿐만 아니라, 사회심리적인 교육환경을 조성하여 제공하고 지역에서 보호를 필요로 하는 아동에게 시기에 적절한 보호를 받도록 돕는 시설이라 할 수 있다. 아동을 위해 지역사회에서 열린 문화공간으로서 다양한 프로그램을 제공하여 건전한 성격을 형성하여 비행을 예방하는 역할과 함께 사회교육을 통하여 인격을 형성할 뿐만 아니라 간식과 식사를 제공하여 영양을 충분히 공급함으로써 건전한 아동으로 성장할 수 있도록 이끌어준다.
따라서 이 연구는 이러한 역할을 감당해야 할 아동복지서비스 전문기관으로서의 아동들에게 어떻게 받아들여지고 있으며, 실제적인 지역아동센터로서의 지원의 효과는 어떠한지 평가해 봄으로써 앞으로의 지역아동센터에 지원 되어질 환경에 대하여 발전과 방향을 모색하고 보다 나은 실질적 서비스를 제공하기 위한 목적을 두고 있다.
본 연구의 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
연구문제 1 지역아동센터에 대한 각 변인별 아동의 만족도는 어떠한가?
연구문제 2 지역아동센터에 대한 각 변인별 아동의 사회적 능력은 어떠한가?
연구문제 3 지역아동센터에 대한 아동의 만족도와 사회적 능력은 어떠한 관계가 있는가?
본 연구는 경기지역, 충남 천안 지역, 대전 지역에 소재한 17곳의 지역아동센터에 다니고 있는 초등학교 4,5,6학년을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고 총 201부의 설문지를 연구 자료로 사용하였다.
본 연구의 측정도구는 2가지로, ‘지역아동센터에 대한 아동의 만족도’, ‘사회적 능력 검사’를 사용하였다.
자료 처리 및 분석은 SPSS WIN 11.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 전산처리하였으며 연구대상자의 개인 배경과 일반적인 사항에 대해 알아보기 위하여 빈도 분석을 사용하였고, 아동의 사회적 능력을 알아보기 위하여 변량분석을, 아동의 만족도와 사회적 능력의 상관을 알아보기 위하여 상관분석(Pearson's Correlation Analysis)을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 지역아동센터에 다니고 있는 아동의 지역아동센터에 대한 만족도를 파악하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 지역아동센터 참여 아동의 개인적 배경(성별, 연령, 지역아동센터에 다닌 기간)에 따라 하위영역에 따라 측정하였고, 그 결과 아동이 대부분 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 지역아동센터에 다니고 있는 아동의 사회적 능력을 파악하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 지역아동센터 참여 아동의 개인적 배경(성별, 연령, 지역아동센터에 다닌 기간)에 따라 사회적 능력의 하위영역을 측정하였고, 그 결과 성별에서는 교사 애정성과, 방해성에서 학년에서는 지도성과 유능성에서, 센터경험기간에 따른 사회적 능력에서는 지도성과 방해성, 교사애정성에서 유의미한 결과가 나타났다.
마지막으로 지역아동센터에 다니고 있는 아동의 만족도에 따라 사회적 능력과 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 살펴보기 위하여 본 연구에서는 지역아동센터 참여 아동의 만족도와 사회적 능력과의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 그 결과 지역아동센터에 다니는 아동의 만족도의 하위영역과 사회적 능력의 하위영역에서 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

From the moment of birth, a man interacts with a social environment as a member of a society, and gradually experiences ceaseless process of socialization while going through physical and mental growth. Hence, it is essential for a child to broaden the range of thinking by getting the social and cultural stimulus through lots of experience. Children from the low-income group, however, are born poor and suffer deprivation and absolute or relative poverty. To make up for their weak educational condition at home and at school, the local child center tries to provide children from the low-income group with stable educational programs, physical surroundings as well as educational environments of socio-psychological aspect. In addition, it helps children who need care and shelter to get a timely protection. For example, it provides various programs and social education as an open cultural space for children, so that they can build up their character and avoid unsound behavior. Also, it supplies snacks and meals, allowing children to have a healthy growth.
Therefore, the present study is to investigate how these child care facilities are accepted by the children who are taken care of, to evaluate how effectively these facilities can support them as a local child center, and finally to find better directions and ways to support those children by providing more substantial service.
Research questions of this study are as follows:
Question 1. What is the child's level of satisfaction depending on the variables in the local child center?
Question 2. What is the child's social ability depending on the variables in the local child center?
Question 3. What kind of relationship is displayed between the child's level of satisfaction and their social ability in the local child center?
A survey was conducted to the subjects who are elementary school students in their fourth, fifth and sixth grades, and who attend to one of the 17 local child centers located in Gyeonggi-do, Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do, and Daejeon metropolitan city, among which 201 copies were used for investigation. As for data analysis, two measurements were used including 'child's level of satisfaction on the local child center' and 'the social ability test'. The data was analyzed and computed using SPSS WIN 11.0 statistical program. Frequency analysis was used for personal background and general matters while analysis of variance was for child's social ability. Finally, Pearson's correlation analysis was used to find correlation between child's level of satisfaction and their social ability.
The results of the present study are summarized as follows:
First, to find the level of satisfaction from children who attend to the local child center, this study measured subcategories of subjects' background(sex, age, duration of attending to the local child center). The result found out that most children were satisfied.
Second, to find the child's social ability from children who attend to the local child center, this study measured subcategories of the social ability depending on the subjects' background(sex, age, duration of attending to the local child center). As a result, there was a significance in teacher's affection and interruption for sex, leadership and competency for social ability, and leadership, interruption and teacher's affection for the duration of attending to the center
Finally, to find out the relation between the level of child's satisfaction and their social ability among children who attend to the local child center, this study investigated correlation between those two variables. As a result, subcategories of the level of child's satisfaction and those of their social ability among children who attend to the local child center was found to have a substantial correlation.
