신동엽 시와 ‘금강’의 층위 = A Study on the Poetry of Shin Dong-yeop from the Perspective of The Geum River

국문 초록 (Abstract)

신동엽 시는 혼돈의 시대 속에서 우리가 지켜야 할 삶의 원칙과 근본적 가치를 환기한다. 『금강』은 신동엽의 문학적 신념이 담긴 대표적 작품에 해당된다. 또한 ‘금강’은 백제와 충청권을 상징하는 지역적 소재이기도 하다. 그리하여 『금강』은 1960년대 민족문학을 표상하는 작품으로, 대전⋅충청권 지역문학의 대표적 콘텐츠로 기록되고 있다. 신동엽의 시적 구상은 현 단계 한국사회의 다층적 구조 속에서도 여전히 시사하는 바가 크다. 신동엽의 금강이 환기하는 공동체의 양상은 민족과 국가를 초월하는 서정적 지평을 연다. 신동엽 식 공동체의 가능성을 파생하는 계기는 금강 자체의 물성과 연동된다. 그리하여 역사, 주체,
장르 등의 차원에서 신동엽 시의 입장이 드러나고 있다. 또한 금강은 다양한 지역과 장소를 관류하거나 때로는 역류하며 중층적 장소성을 생산한다. 자연 본연의 감각이 공동체의 특수한 지평을 암시하고 있다고 하겠다. 이런 양상은 지역문학적 관점에서도 특별한 의미를 지닌다. 신동엽 시의 금강이 상징하는 지역적 요소이자 원형으로서의 성격은 그만의 독특한 지역문학적 위상을 부여할 수 있는 문학적 근거라 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the meaning of The Geum River in Shin Dong-yeop’s poems. And this paper studies Shin Dong-yeop’s poems from the perspective of place and community. Recently, the increasing of theoretical approach of space has lead to the need for the perspective of space in the literature theory. This paper tries to apply the meaning in broad sense to Shin Dong-yeop’s poems based on the efforts to examine placeness in various lights. Shin faced poetically his modern surroundings. Therefore, he can be referred
to as problematic objects who shared converging and diverging points in looking into and understanding the problems of a historical view reflected in poetry. This
paper tries to apply the perspective of The Geum River in broad sense to his poetic works based on the efforts to resist modern age in various lights.
Shin’s view of poetry is characterized by regional attitude and imaginative geography. The meaning of region can be called the spirit of imaginative geography, and Shin’s poems are the typical showcase of it. The good examples are poetic attributes as the spirit of the archetypal native place. The simple formality deriving from Shin’s nationalism is sometimes accompanied by the lack of aesthetic realms. Nonetheless, his spirit and works prove our historical circumstances and the typical pattern of living in unreasonable modern times by performing effects.
