입양에 대한 편견 극복을 위한 성서적 관점에 관한 연구 = (A) study on the biblical ideas for the prejudice against adoption

국문 초록 (Abstract)

올림픽과 한, 일 월드컵 축구대회를 계기로 한국은 국제 사회에 새롭게 드러났다. 그리고 눈부신 경제의 발전 속도는 개발도상국의 모델이 되었다. 그러나 이러한 화려한 배경 뒤에 어두운 단면이 존재한다. 그것은 "고아 수출국"이라는 비난을 듣는다는 현실이다. 국내에서 발생되는 요보호 아동을 보호하지 못하고, 입양하지 못해 해외로 입양시키는 이 비극적인 현실의 문제점을 철저하게 분석해 보아야 할 것이다.
필자는 결혼하기 전부터 입양에 대한 관심을 가졌고 아내와 입양에 대한 긍정적인 합의를 하고 결혼하였다. 이러한 사실을 아주 가까운 주변 사람들에게 말했을 때, 대 부분의 반응은 긍정적이기 보다는 부정적인 반응이 대부분이었다. 그들은 대부분 자신들이 입양에 대한 정보나 교육과 관심이 없이 일반적인 편견(Prejudice)을 가지고 자신의 생각을 고착화 시켜서 일반화 한 것이다. 입양에 관한 참고 서적을 보면서 긍정적인 면을 주변 사람들과 새로이 만나는 사람들에게 이야기 해 주어도 부정적인 편견은 쉽사리 제거 되지 않았다. 그러기에 이 글을 꼭 써야만 하고, 입양의 활성화를 위해 무엇인가 해야만 한다고 생각하였다.
필자는 특별히 성서적인 입장에서 입양의 문제를 다루고 있다. 그러기에 입양의 문제는 전 기독교인의 문제로 전환된다. 입양이 활성화 되지 못하는 요소는 두 가지이다. 하나는 입양에 대한 필요성을 가지지 못하는 것이고, 둘째는 관심은 있지만 부정적인 편견으로 인한 인식의 확산이다. 첫 번째 입양에 대한 필요는 성서적인 명령이라는 사실이다. 기독교인들은 선교를 지상 과제로 삼는다. 선교에 있어 가장 중요한 사실은 보내는 것과 보내지는 사람들이다. 이 선교적인 사명처럼 입양은 입양하는 당사자들과 입양을 지원하는 일이 함께 있어야한다. 그러기 위해서는 입양은 특별한 사람만이 행하는 일이 아니라 누구나 할 수 있는 일이며 적극적으로 도와야 한다는 사실이다.
입양은 성서적인 사회복지 이며 하나님의 주된 관심이다. 현재 한국사회에 만연된 입양에 관한 부정적인 편견은 극복되어야 하고 성서적인 하나님의 명령으로 이해하여 적극 실천해야 한다. 이것이 기독교 공동체의 역할이다. 깨어진 가정을 회복시키는 가장 위대한 사업은 입양이다. 입양이 온전히 실천될 때 해외로 내버려 지는 아동은 없을 것이며, 하나님의 참 사랑을 요보호 아동에게 실천하는 중요한 일이 될 것이다. 필자는 이 입양을 실천하기 위해 하나씩 준비해 가고 있다. 왜냐하면 입양은 내 자녀를 가지는 또 하나의 방법이기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Korea has been internationally introduced by Olympics and Korea/Japan World Cup games and its bright and rapid economic development has become the role model of other developing countries. However, it has a dark side hidden at the back of its splendid achievements: that it is criticised as an "orphan trader." We shall thoroughly analyze the problems of our tragic reality in which we fail to protect our underprivileged or handicapped children and arrange them for overseas adoption.
I have personally been interested in adoption for a long time, and made positive agreement with my wife for adoption before I married her. When we announced our wills for adoption to our close relatives and friends, we mostly received negative responses. Most of them based their thinking and responses on typical prejudice without any information or interests in adoption. Although I introduced good references on adoption and explained the positive aspects, they would not eliminate their negative prejudices easily. Therefore, I was motivated to write this study and to do something to vitalize adoption.
I particularly deal with this issue from Biblical perspective. Therefore, the issue of adoption is handled as the problem of all Christians. There are two elements that are interfering with the vitalization of adoption. First, it is the lack of necessity; and second, it is the spread of negative prejudices as the social norm. Firstly, adoption is necessary because it is commanded in the Bible. For Christians, missionary works is the most divine project during their life in this world. The most important factors of missionary works are the things and workers that have been sent. Similar to missionary activities, adoption is processed when there are adopters and supporters. Therefore, adoption can be done by anybody and shall be actively supported.
Adoption is a social welfare that is commanded by the Bible and is a major interest of God. Korea's negative prejudices in adoption shall be overcome and we shall actively implement this command from God. This is another responsibility of the Christian groups. The greatest project to recover damaged families is adoption. By implementing adoption soundly, we can protect our children from being sent to overseas and we will be able to practice the true love of God for the children who need our protection. I am preparing to adopt a child, because adoption is another way of giving birth to my child.
