The normal white(S.D.)rats were classified with four groups: ethanol treated was group A, ethanol treated group which was pretreated with ginseng extract was group B, ginseng extract treated was group C, and ginseng extract treated group which was pretreated with ethanol was group D. The white rats of four group were treated with 20% ethanol and/or 1% ginseng extract. The serum and liver tissue collected were 5 day intervals. The following results were obtained.
1. The concentration of r-GTP, ALP and amylase in the serum and liver enzyme activities were increased in ethanol treated group.
2. The r-GTP, ALP and amylase in the serum and liver enzyme activities were stabilized in the ginseng extract treated group.
3. The significant correlation between enzyme activities of groups were found in liver ALP as the most effective site.
