In this study the ways to successfully implement the 6th curriculum are explored in a longterm and broad perspective. With the goal of education, the rearing of productive democratic citizens in a global society, in mind, researches and theories addressting the orientation of school change, the trend of educational refrom in America, and as a specific example of school change the League of Professional Development School of the Program for School Improvement in the University of Georgia are presented. Finally, some ways to implement the new curriculum are described in gerneral terms.
