賦를 통해 본 南朝文人의 生命意識

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문에서는 南朝 문인들의 賦에 표현되고 있는 남조문인의 生命意識을 고찰하고, 그 속에 나타난 생명의식을 통해 남조시대 지식인들이 가지고 있던 시대의식과 사유를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 남조 사회의 정치적 불안정과 道家 및 佛敎思想의 흥성으로 인해 문인들은 삶과 죽음, 현실적 욕망의 실현과 性命의 보전이라는 문제에 대해 진지하게 사유하고 진솔한 감정을 토로해냈음을 알 수 있었다.
본 논문에서 고찰한 작품들은 다음의 세 가지 내용으로 귀납할 수 있었다. 첫째 덧없는 인생에 대한 자각을 통해 삶의 유한함과 무상함에 대한 비애를 토로하고 있는 작품들을 살펴보았다. 둘째로 隱逸생활에 대한 동경을 표현하고 있는 작품을 보았다. 정치적으로 혼란한 상태에 처해있던 남조사회에서 이처럼 현실생활의 고통에서 벗어나기 위한 대안으로 ‘隱逸’을 설정하고 그 은일생활을 동경하는 마음을 절실하게 토로하고 있는 것은 당시 사회의 분위기가 작품에 잘 반영되고 있는 결과라 할 수 있다. 세째로 老莊사상과 불교사상을 통해 작가의 인생관을 표현해내고 현실생활을 어려움을 극복하려 하는 작품들을 살펴보았다. 은일에 이은 또 다른 대안으로서 철학사상이나 종교사상에 귀의하고 있는 작품을 통해 남조 지식인 사회의 사상적인 한 단면을 엿볼 수 있었다.
비록 남조부에 대해 ‘공허한 내용에 화려한 형식’이라는 일반적인 평가가 있지만, 남조 문인들이 삶과 죽음 그리고 참다운 인생의 가치추구 등에 대한 사유를 통해 작품 속에 자신의 진실된 情感과 생명에 대한 의식을 담아 표출해내고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the awareness of life through the Rhymed Prose written by Southern Dynasties literati and investigate the spirit of the age and mind which were widely reflected in the Rhymed Prose. In the Rhymed Prose, especially written by Southern Dynasties literati, the writers revealed their sincere opinion on issues about life and death, realization of a desire, preservation of life as the spreading of Taoism and Buddhism. They represented the political instability of the Southern Dynasties as well.
The works discussed in this paper are the following three topics: the works describing the sorrow about the finiteness and transience of life by the awareness of the fleeting life; the works expressing a longing for the life as a recluse — in the Southern Dynasties, the state of political turmoil, the writers created a recluse as an alternative to the pain of life and their longing of the life as a recluse can be regarded as a reflection of the social atmosphere; the works depicting their view of life and attempting to overcome the diffiulties of life through out Lao Zhuang’s thoughts and Buddhism.
