동독 사회주의 협동조합은행의 시장경제적 개편에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Transformation of Socialist Cooperative Banks in the East Germany into Market-oriented System

Historically, there is no model for Germany process of reunification which is marked by a substantial transformation of the economic and social system away from a centrally planned economy of the socialist type towards a social market economy. Neither can there be found an example of the transformation of socialist co-operative banks into market-oriented organizations in the history of socialist co-operatives. Thus, theories or models for a successful transformation of socialist co-operative banks did not exist. It was the predominant task to create and promote functioning, healthy, market-oriented banking in-stitutions in the new federal states, This is the perspective underlying the analysis presented here of economic, political and legal problems regarding the transformation of former socialist co=operative banks of the former GDR (German Democratic Republic). Besides, an attempt will be made to impart successful opportunities of transformation as problem-solving approaches.
