The purpose of this study is to analyze about understanding process to the spatial living information of local area cased by Kyongju-city. For the analysis, the cognitive map method was adopted.
The results of this study are as follows.
1) The recall frequency order was shown of greup character. Namely, education facilities and transportation facilities were most important cognitive elements.
2) The evaluation degree about living environment is different by the maintenance level.
3) The cognitive process about spatial living information was as follows.
① tourist facilities -> ② 1st living area -> ③ education facilities -> ④ 2nd living area -> ⑤ residential facilities
