The primary aim of this thesis is to understand, based on sports-confidence theory of Vealey, not only the relationship of the athletes' play and the frequency of putting but the difference between their age, the average shots and their career records, and the self-confidence, if there is any psychological factors that can affect to play golf seriously. To get this purpose the athlete's confidence before and after rounding and the frequency of putting will be surveyed.
The results of the analysis show that sports-confidence affects to play golf which requires the delicate athletic skill. As for the psychological factors, the confidence can be ascending after being qualified and it can be declined after being disqualified for the preliminary match. And they can affect more critically especially if the athletes' age and the career records are high and shots are low.
It seems that the experienced athletes can have less psychological burden than the beginners can have, and older players can have more social experiences, higher circumstantial judgement and cognitive ability than younger ones have.
However this study shows that the analysis of the athlete's sports-confidence and putting has about 9% relations with 회귀방정식 모형, but the rate 9% is very little and has no importance to the result. In other words, it seems to be thought other factors such as psychological, physiological, and environmental factors affect more seriously to the play.
To summarize this study, sports-confidence in playing golf tends to be strong in case the athletes are old and average shots are low, and they have lots of experiences. Therefore if they want to have good results in the matches, they must practice many times in the actual condition of games. That is the most effective way to improve sports-confidence.
