居昌郡 住民의 中心地利用(Ⅱ) = A Study on Residents' Use of the Central Place in Geochang-Gun(Ⅱ)

Since 1960's the nation has experienced a drastic change of the nation-wide spatial features. The economic expansion have persisted in the process of a series of economic development schemes, along with the physical land plans, resultion in the national expressway networks was a propellent for changes in the various facets of the environment, physical and socio-cultural.
This paper is primarily concerned with the finding of the perceived behavioral mode in a typical farm communities in relation to the utilization of the central places. It is also aimed at providing some useful information of the changes in residents' use of the central place, and the effects of the construction of the highway in rural.
Geochang-gun was selected for the case study. "A Study on Residents' use of the Central Place in Geochang-Gun"(1983) has been used for comparing the residents' use of the central place.
Some charcteristics found out through the analysis can be as follows.
First, in relation to the perceived level of familiarity for neighbor cities appeared in the order of Taegu, Pusan, Jinju and Seoul.
Second, about 30% of respondents has replied that they intend to move to the places out of Geochang-gun.
Third, the preferred place for seeking jobs was choiced in the order of Geochang-eub, Taegu, Pusan and Seoul whereas the desirable place for higher education appeared in the order of Seoul, Taegu, Pusan and Jinju.
Forth, according to the analysis of utility of central place facilities based on 15 items, there was 5 ordered hierarchies. And most people have been replied on Geochang-eub for meeting their needs for whole oder functions. Taegu shows more acceptance in the highest order functions in the hierarchy.
Fifth, most people have replied that the improvements in the order of in the traffic section, the economic section and living environments are necessary.
Sixth, most people have replied that 88 Expressway is useful to Geochang-gun.
Seventh, but they responsed that improving the national way network is more useful than constructing a new highway.
