Second, what is necessary to improve the professionalism of professors dedicated to the Autonomous Major Selection System? Third, what positive experiences did these professors have? Fourth, what difficulties did these professors encounter? Fifth, what are the support measures for dedicated professors in the Autonomous Major Selection System? The research findings are as follows. First, the academic advising provided by professors dedicated to the Autonomous Major Selection System was categorized into 14 categories across four domains: counseling, lectures and course development, co-curricular program development, and operation and other duties. Second, the areas necessary for enhancing the expertise of professors dedicated to the Autonomous Major Selection System were categorized into six categories across two domains: counseling ability and course development ability. Third, positive experiences for dedicated professors in the Autonomous Major Selection System were categorized into six categories across three domains: assisting with major selection, aiding adaptation to university life, and observing changes in counseling. Fourth, challenges faced by dedicated professors in the Autonomous Major Selection System were categorized into six categories across three domains: lack of institutional framework for the system, insufficient university support, and lack of understanding. Fifth, support measures for professors dedicated to the Autonomous Major Selection System were categorized into four categories across two domains: institutional design of the Autonomous Major Selection System and multifaceted support at the university level. Based on these results, implications for establishing systems and support measures for academic guidance by professors dedicated to the Autonomous Major Selection System were discussed.
