A study has been made of the hardness of intercritical dual phase steels quenched from the austenite plus ferrite phase region.
The main results obtained are as follows :
(1) Nucleation and growth of martensite were promoted when microstructures of the specimen raped cooled at 810℃ were characterized as fine dispersions of martensite than those of rapid cooled at 780℃.
(2) The strength of ductility on the ferrite matrix have an effect on the increase of elongation because the necking occurs lately.
(3) The hardness of I.D.P. steels increases with the increasing of the heating hour and temperature.
