복지국가와 사회복지 -한국어린이재단 대구종합사회복지관 건립을 위한 안심지역 기초 조사- = A Basic Community Survey at Ausim Area for A Community Welfare Service Program

One of the roles of a Community Welfare Center is to identify the needs of the people and to seek ways to adjust, mediate and solve the needs in between the people and administrative system. Thus, a Community Welfare Center should consider the social value in a given community as an enabler for social integration, and as a body for service delivery system to actively intervent the social and geographical problems. This research has been conducted at Ansim areas where a new community welfare center is to be constructed by Korea Children`s Foundation. The research was composed of 66 questionnaires which were surveyed to 403 households. A summary of the results of survey is as follows: 1. The population density rate of this area is 0.974 which was somewhat low compared to that of Dong-Ku area (1.840) and to the total Taegu(4.756). 66.3% of the people live in the traditional tile-roofed houses which are generally old, 30% of the those houses are more then 20 years old. The housing supply rate was 48.6% which was also low compared to national rate 70.9%. Thus, many people are overflowed to this area together with urbanization, and population and social changes are great in this area. 3. The problems of the residents are financial difficulty(25.7%) housing(17.1%), health(16.0%), and education of their children(15.9%). The residents indicated air pollution(31.9%), noise pollution(27.2%), and garbage clearance(10.3%) as problems of their community and 46.4$ expressed complaint on their housing area. 4. As to the current living condition, 41.9% of the people answered their living condition had been improved while 21.6% responded negatively. They judge their living condition has been bettered not by the government policy(9.2%) but by their personal ability(74.7%). 16.6% of the people said they are satisfied. In regard to the government policy and concern, but 50.4% replied as not satisfied. In regard to the government policy, 45.9% expressed a negative response while only 6.0% feel all right. Therefore, the government should develop more public welfare oriented measures and the community welfare center ought to develop programs fit to solve the people`s needs to act as a moderator between the government and people.
